Mission Statement

Some Statistics of India to start with

Population:
1,147,995,904 (July 2008 est.)
Age structure:
0-14 years: 31.5% (male 189,238,487/female 172,168,306)
15-64 years: 63.3% (male 374,157,581/female 352,868,003)
65 years and over: 5.2% (male 28,285,796/female 31,277,725) (2008 est.)

Literacy:
definition: age 15 and over can read and write
total population: 61%
male: 73.4%
female: 47.8% (2001 census)

Aim:
1.To change the definition of Literacy to the following:
Be able to communicate effectively ( read + write + speak) in Hindi OR English and more importantly understand the basic moral values of humanity.

2.To ensure that the future generation i.e. age group 0 - 21 (at least 0 - 14) are literate as per the above definition.

This will ensure that in the years to come, India has a strong base of people running the show. And if this future generation can understand the difference between the right and wrong, have the guts inculcated in them to fight for the right, no matter what, I think it will solve all the problems automatically...

Excellent initiative. Being a computer literate and have seen the edge it provides to compete in the modern era, I would like see a Vision statement.

Something along the lines of :

For the age group of 0-14, empowering them with the tools and knowledge to inculcate in them the belief to succeed using technology as a platform. Access to information and resources should be second nature making them believe that sky is the limit.
You are what you want to be and not what circumstances drive you to be.
